2008 marks the 13th year that Lorene Oates has been part of the Celebration organization. As Event Director focusing on Sponsor Services, Lorene coordinates the overall marketing, sales, media and promotional programs surrounding the Celebration events.

Lorene's professional credentials include 23 years experience in marketing, public relations and special events. She has consulted and/or been on staff with numerous events including: The Bite of Seattle (Seattle), Taste of Tacoma, Coffee Fest - Seattle Style, KCPQ 13 Fox Kids Fun Fair (Seattle), Boise Basin Quilt Show (Boise), The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - Man & Woman of the Year Program (Boise), Caldwell Indian Creek Festival (Caldwell)

Her work in Seattle included time at KQPC-13 FOX, where she specialized in non-broadcast revenue sales programs. She also operated her own business, Hailey-Cartee Marketing Communications, until the Celebration "client" became the entire business.

In 2008, Lorene was named as an Idaho Business Woman of the Year by the Idaho Business Review. She also received the 2002 U.S. Small Business Administration Idaho Women in Business Co-Advocate of the Year Award for her work with the Women's Business Center.

On the fitness side of things, in 2008 Lorene participated in the Race to Robie Creek Half Marathon - She didn't really race, she walked, but she had fun. Along with her brother Alan, she completed the Sawtooth Relay and Fit for Life 10K.

On a more personal side, Lorene is a fifth generation Idaho native, who enjoys international travel, comedy, Boston Terriers, and talking about ideas. She is interested in American patriotism and preserving the Bill of Rights. When she is not working, Lorene is creating her Second Life as an entrepreneur, idea-maker and enjoying fun times within her virtual world. Although she is currently accepting applications for "Mr. Right", Lorene often serves as a relationship counselor for her more neurotic friends, which in turn, helps her feel normal.
