2010 marks the 15th year that Lorene Oates has been part of the Celebration organization which is currently in its 18th year.
As Sponsor Services Coordinator, Lorene coordinates marketing, sales, media and promotional programs surrounding the Celebration events. She creates programs to enhance the sponsor experience during their contract period.
Lorene's professional credentials include 25 years experience in marketing, public relations and special events. She has consulted and/or been on staff with numerous events including: The Bite of Seattle (Seattle), Taste of Tacoma, Coffee Fest - Seattle Style, KCPQ 13 Fox Kids Fun Fair (Seattle), Boise Basin Quilt Show (Boise), The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - Man & Woman of the Year Program (Boise), Caldwell Indian Creek Festival (Caldwell), Running USA National Conference (San Diego).
Her work in Seattle included time at KQPC-13 FOX, where she specialized in non-broadcast revenue sales programs. She also operated her own business, Hailey-Cartee Marketing Communications, until the Celebration "client" became the entire business.

Lorene holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Idaho, in Communications. She cut her early teeth as a journalist at the University of Idaho Argonaut while in Moscow.

2002 -Received U.S. Small Business Administration Idaho Women in Business Co-Advocate of the Year Award for her work with the Women's Business Center.
On the fitness side of things, Lorene has battled a life long fight with weight and has a great compassion for the issues surrounding obesity and fitness. Because the fight is never completely over, she is committed to seeking out avenues to improve her own fitness by participating in as many events as possible, while also gaining great new perspectives on how to be a fantastic event director.
Lorene is a LEKI trained Nordic Walking Instructor who considers herself a “walker with a little bit of run in her”. Her philosophy is that participation in events is more about the human spirit, than the actual time on the clock. So enjoy each moment you are able.

Lorene is a fifth generation Idaho native, who enjoys international travel, comedy, Boston Terriers, and talking about ideas. She is interested in American patriotism, preserving the Bill of Rights and the condition of the human spirit.
When she is not working, Lorene is creating her Second Life as an entrepreneur and idea-maker within virtual worlds. The best part of her day is being home with her “Mr. Right” Malcolm and her boston terrier, Liberty.
