Lynn Neil

Current Position:
Women’s Show Coordinator

Education:
Eastern Washington University, Major: Radio and Television Management with emphasis on Sales and Advertising, Minors: Business, Communications, Theatre and Women’s Studies. Lynn also has a Business Administration Certificate from the University of Washington, Foster School of Business.

Professional:
As a senior level Retail General Manager in Seattle, Washington, I had the pleasure of working with the biggest names in the Designer Clothing world! As part of my job, I was lucky to travel domestically and internationally to the apparel industry’s fashion capitols for fashion shows and to buy collections for the globally recognized JERI RICE Women’s Designer clothing store. In Seattle, I produced many major events for JERI RICE as well as professional and non-profit organizations where I served as an officer or on the board.  Here in Boise, I am currently serving on the United Way of Treasure Valley Health Vision Council and the newest health and fitness initiative in the United States, “Let’s Move Boise!”

Hometown:
Even though I love the city life, I value the small town atmosphere, people and values that I received growing up in Colfax, Washington …. The wheat capitol of the world!

Family:
As one of the “fabulous Neil girls”, I’m the youngest of four sisters! My husband Mac and I moved to Boise five years ago to enjoy the relaxed lifestyle that Boise offers.

My favorite things:
Tennis! Having won the City of Seattle Singles Tennis Championship, I keep wondering if there is one more championship in me. Currently, I’m Captain of my USTA tennis team at Hillcrest Country Club and would love nothing better than to go to Nationals with my team.
Golf! Yoga! Cycling! I actively play in a golf league and try to practice yoga at least twice a week. Mac and I enjoy hopping on our bikes to seek out the best burger joints in Boise with the rationalization that we are burning calories on the way home!
Entertaining and Gardening! Good food is truly a pleasure and I love gourmet food and wines. A perfect evening for me is to invite friends to my home to try a new dish. When I’m not cooking, I enjoy puttering in my garden and “politely” asking the bugs to stay off my roses.
Reading & Current events! I’m an admitted news junky! To support my intellectual rigor, I start my day with the Idaho Statesman, Wall Street Journal and surfing the web. On Sundays, I indulge in the New York Times and a big pot of coffee. Thanks to my book club, I usually have two or three books going at one time and subscribe to enough magazines to keep the advertising industry afloat.

What Do You Celebrate?
It changes all of the time! I celebrate all the normal things, family, friends, life, health, etc. I celebrate that I have been able to assume a dynamic leadership role in my community and at the St. Luke’s Women’s Fitness Celebration. I celebrate that I have gained wisdom, sound judgment and a great sense of humor as I traverse the obstacle of life. I celebrate that I have an opportunity to enjoy life every single day.
