USATF Certified!

What are USATF-Certified Courses?

"A USATF-certified course is a road race course whose distance has been certified for accuracy.

Courses must be certified for any road running performance to be accepted as a record or to be nationally ranked.  Furthermore, running a race on a certified course allows you to accurately compare your time to performances run on other certified courses because you can be sure the distances were the same. No one can truly establish a personal best if the course distance is not accurate."

The 5K Course is known as one of the most beautiful and inspirational in the nation. From the Capitol Building to Ann Morrison Park, participants move through the streets of Boise on a crisp September morning. Along the 5K Course participants are treated to a variety of entertainment showcases. These showcases, sponsored by Peak Broadcasting, are a delight for Celebration participants.

And who can forget the popular Tuxedo Row? The encouraging words and hi-fives from these tuxedo-clad men are what make the 3-mile mark a focal point for Celebration photo opportunities and a tradition of the Celebration. No matter what, there is always a welcoming cheer to encourage you to the Finish Line!

TUXEDO ROW
Tuxedo Row is found at Mile Marker Three near the Boise River. It's your welcome to the Finish Line.

WATER STATION
The water station is at the Historic Boise Depot. Volunteers hand out thousands of cups of water each year. The Boise Highlanders entertain participants as they pass in front of the Depot.

Rules for the Water Station

  • Keep moving
  • Take water from the tables at the end of the row, not from the first tables
  • Drop your cup in the garbage/Allied Waste boxes provided

If you need additional water, please carry a bottle of water with you.

Special Achiever's Course
The Special Achiever’s Course is a unique course that allows individuals who want to WALK a shorter distance to do so on a special course. Branching off at the Boise Library, it follows the Greenbelt to Americana Blvd., where it meets with the 5K Course to cross the Finish Line.

Participants in competitive waves are NOT ALLOWED to take the Special Achiever's Course if they want to qualify for an age group medal.
